I got the chance to produce and be photo editor for the new UFC Magazine.It was great working with photographers Gavin Bond, Ryan Robinson and Dexter Ouinto. It was also another great chance to do photo production with Lisa Elin. And for the Vegas shoot LA producer Deborah Burch. Watch out for issue two hitting newstands in the fall.

Ace Hotel NYC

Stayed at the Ace Hotel NYC on April 18th. It was a super soft opening, a lot of the hotel was not done yet. But the staff was great and I recommend it for location shoot, a place to stay or just hang out. The Ace in Portland rocks well.

Blender Magazine folds!

I worked at Blender from 2001 thru 2006. Sad to see any magazine close shop,but this one especially. Learned a lot professionally but along the way made friendships with people that I will have for the rest of my life.There were somegood times during my stay at Blender. It was always a pleasure working with my fellow staffers there, especially the photo dept..

Hoping to work with F.Scott Schafer on upcoming photo shoot for the launch of a new Magazine I'm working on.Which will be hitting newstands June 2009.. More details to come on that project in future blog posts. But was reminded that i've done a few photo shoot's with Scott that involve fire. The flamer thrower images are of me and what final image came out to be. Co-produced that shoot with Christine Reilly. The other image of the Undertaker was done down in Houston Texas. What a crazy few days that was. Lyani Powers did a great job with prop styling/set design for that shoot..

In some cases, to get the best possible photo. I've had to dress up in costumes. The dragon image is an outtake from a photo shoot done at industria studios.(industrianyc.com) The bunny image is me with the band Motion City Soundtrack on the streets of philly.

While looking at possible photographers for a Mens Fitness magazine shoot. I came across this photo of Norah Jones photographed by Judson Baker for Blender Magazine way back in 2002 or 03. I was the Associate Photo Editor at the time. And was only at the shoot for a second to deliver my Willy Nelson concert shirt. She loved it and ended up wearing it in the photo and keeping it after. Tonya Martin produced this shoot and this post is a reminder of that sometimes you have to laugh to get though the day..

OBAMA Magazine!

Nov 4th was a great day last year and this year was the first time I watched the inauguration in sometime. In late Nov and early Dec I was hired to be a photo editor on a Barack Obama inauguration special magazine. I hadn't done a photo research project like this in long time, but I was up to the challenge. And by the time it was done I knew every place in the world to get images of Obama. Issue is on newsstands now..

Mens Fitness magazine

Freelancing for Men's Fitness magazine!!!I've been working with them since the end of Oct. And the Feb issue cover shoot was the first thing I did for them. Cover subject was Georges St-Pierre of the UFC. It was a great shoot and I got to work with Lisa Elin the DP of Mens Fitness and photographer Roger Erickson. We shot GSP on location at the Wat gym in NYC. Awesome place if you need a workout. Issue is on newsstands now..

Since then I've worked with a lot great photographers. Some I have in the past such as Bob Croslin, Tim Soter, Jason Tanka Blaney, Alphonse Telymonde, Roger Erickson, Zach Cordner. And Some new ones such as Brian Bowen Smith and Gorman+ Gorman.
As images come to print I'll be posting them on this blog.

I left WWE magazine in mid Oct. And since then I've entered the world of freelancing. So after years in the industry I'm trying my hand at full time freelance.
